As with everything at Grace Baptist Church, we desire our music to have a Scriptural foundation. 

Ephesians 5:19 states “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;" 

Music unfortunately has become a great battlefield in most churches today and has been used as an agent of change that affects the entire ministry.  Grace Baptist Church, however, has maintained high, Biblical standards in this vitally important area and will continue to stand against the compromise that is so prevalent in “Christianity” today. 

We still use the traditional hymns and actually hold a hymnal while we do so!  Our choir and special music is performed conservatively with the objective being to glorify the Lord and not the performer.  Our orchestra (brass, woodwinds, and strings) has added a new element to our congregational singing while exhibiting a complementary sound.  Music is given a prominent place in our public worship while maintaining its proper place as it relates to preaching. 

Our visitors’ welcome packet makes this statement about a “Christ-honoring service...The music will lift your spirit, the fellowship will warm your heart and the preaching of God’s Word will challenge your soul.”  Hopefully, adhering to this conservative music philosophy will enable Grace Baptist Church to continue “singing and making melody in our hearts to the Lord.”
